5 Days — Samburu, Lake Nakuru & Maasai Mara

Detailed itinerary

1. Day 1 — Nairobi → Samburu

   Suggested departure: 7:00 AM. Drive north through the changing landscapes toward Samburu. Arrive around midday, check in and enjoy lunch. Take an afternoon game drive looking for elephant, giraffe, zebra, big cats and the distinctive northern species of the reserve.

2. Day 2 — Full day in Samburu

   Early morning game drive from around 6:30 AM. Return for breakfast, then continue exploring the reserve. After lunch and a rest, take another afternoon game drive. Optional cultural experience can be arranged subject to availability.

3. Day 3 — Samburu → Lake Nakuru

   Suggested departure: 7:30 AM. Travel south through the Rift Valley region toward Lake Nakuru. Depending on timing, enjoy an afternoon game drive around the park, with opportunities for rhino, buffalo, Rothschild's giraffe and birdlife.

4. Day 4 — Lake Nakuru → Maasai Mara

   Suggested departure: 7:00 AM. Continue toward the Maasai Mara, arriving in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive. Enter the Mara landscape and begin looking for the Big Five and other wildlife.

5. Day 5 — Maasai Mara → Nairobi

   Early morning game drive, approximately 6:30–9:00 AM. Breakfast, check out and begin the return journey to Nairobi. Estimated arrival is late afternoon, depending on road conditions and stops.
